The world of retail continues to change, both because of consumer preferences and also because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Polaris area has been strongly affected by economic conditions that have resulted in some stories and restaurants closing, while others have arrived and opened new or expanded locations.

One recent loss was the large Field & Stream store at Polaris Fashion Place Mall. The last day for that location, which opened back in 2015, was April 3.

Field & Stream was itself a subsidiary of Dick’s Sporting Goods, the largest sporting goods retail company in America.

Another Field & Stream location continues in operation in the Columbus area, at 4304 Easton Gateway. No announcement has been made about the empty retail space created by this closure.
