Delaware Countians that are looking to pick up some extra cash, particularly those who follow the Ohio State Buckeyes, have a unique opportunity this fall as the university celebrates the 100th anniversary of Ohio Stadium.

Each game at The Shoe takes a small army of workers to put on the show. Like many employers these days, OSU is making a strong push to recruit willing and able bodies to undertake those positions.

To that end, the university is hosting a job fair next week to interview for those positions.

This fall, the Buckeyes’ schedule starts out with an amazing five consecutive home games, with eight of twelve contests taking place in Columbus. Home games include:

  • September 3 – Notre Dame
  • September 10 – Arkansas State
  • September 17 – Toledo
  • September 24 – Wisconsin
  • October 1 – Rutgers
  • October 22 – Iowa
  • November 12 – Indiana
  • November 26 – Michigan

While some times have yet to be announced, the Notre Dame and Toledo games will be evening contests starting at 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM, respectively.

The OSU Department of Athletics sent out the following to announce the job fair:

Seeking ushers, redcoats, security, food & beverage, parking at athletic venues

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Department of Athletics will host a hiring fair next Wednesday and Thursday, July 27 and 28, at Ohio Stadium. Representatives will be on site sharing information and conducting interviews for ushers, redcoats, security, food and beverage, and parking operations. All available positions are paid positions that work gamedays in The Shoe.
Those prospective employees will also have the opportunity to work at other events outside of Ohio State football games, including but not limited to men’s and women’s basketball games and concerts at the Schottenstein Center, volleyball, wrestling and gymnastics competitions at the Covelli Center and many more Olympic sports events at Ohio State’s other athletics venues and facilities.

The hiring fair is scheduled to run from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. each day inside the Huntington Club at Ohio Stadium. Free parking is available in the West Stadium lot (along the Olentangy River) for all candidates. Enter through the glass doors between Gate 17 and Gate 23 – you will be directed to the Huntington Club to check out available positions. Interviews will be conducted on-site and several groups will be making instant offers after interviews are completed.
