Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted Monday announced the approval of assistance for nine projects set to create 982 new jobs and retain 1,640 jobs statewide. One of those assistance packages is coming to Delaware County.

During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $64.9 million in new payroll and spur more than $76 million in investments across Ohio.

Three Franklin County projects were included among tax credit recipients, including:

Benchmark Industrial Inc. in Gahanna which expects to create 40 full times, generate $2.5 million in new annual payroll, and retain $3.4 million in existing payroll. Benchmark distributes industrial, shipping, and safety equipment.

Pluto Healthcare Staffing LLC in Grandview Heights, a healthcare staffing firm, which will create 65 full time jobs with $4.2 million in new annual payroll.

Simpson Manufacturing Co. Inc. in Columbus, which expects to create 125 full time jobs with a total of $29.1 million in new and retained annual payroll. The company designs, engineers, and manufactures wood construction products.

In Delaware County, Vertiv Group Corporation in Westerville, which designs, builds, and services critical infrastructure for data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial facilities, was approved for a 1.724 percent, eight year Job Creation Tax Credit.

The move will create 100 full time positions with $8 million in new annual payroll and will retain $75 million in existing payroll.
