A new kind of mini golf experience is coming to the Polaris area this spring, with Puttshack set to open its first Ohio location on Wednesday, May 27. The new venue will open to the public at 4:00 PM at 8870 Galaxy Way in Columbus, within The Galaxy development.
A Different Take On Mini Golf
Puttshack describes its concept as “tech-infused” indoor mini golf, combining familiar putting challenges with ball-tracking technology and competitive social games. Instead of keeping score with a pencil and card, the venue’s system tracks play automatically, creating a more interactive experience for groups, dates, parties, and corporate outings.
The Columbus location will include about 12,529 square feet of space, with two nine-hole courses featuring 18 unique holes in all. For smaller private gatherings, the site will also include three “Challenge Hole” suites. Each suite will have its own games and a dedicated server, giving groups a more private version of the Puttshack experience.
Food, Drinks, And Late Nights
The new Polaris-area venue will also include a full food and cocktail program, positioning it as much as a night-out destination as a mini golf course. After opening day, regular hours are expected to be:
- Monday through Thursday: 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
- Friday and Saturday: 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM
- Sunday: 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
The late-night weekend hours place Puttshack firmly in the growing category of “competitive socializing,” where games, food, drinks, and group experiences are brought together under one roof.
Reservations Encouraged
Reservations are strongly encouraged for the Columbus location, though walk-ins will be accepted when space is available. Ahead of the opening, Puttshack is also offering a perk for early sign-ups. Guests who join the free Puttshack Perks program before the location opens will receive one complimentary nine-hole game at the Columbus venue.
A First For Ohio
The Polaris opening will mark Puttshack’s first Ohio location, as well as its 20th site in the United States and 24th globally. Locally, the arrival adds another year-round indoor entertainment option to the Polaris area, which already draws visitors for shopping, dining, hotels, offices, and nearby mixed-use development. With Polaris Fashion Place and surrounding restaurants already serving as a regional destination, Puttshack gives the north side another reason for groups to linger after work, on weekends, or during colder months when outdoor recreation is less predictable.
The new venture is another sign that entertainment concepts built around shared experiences continue to see opportunity in high-traffic suburban destinations. For the Polaris area, it adds a new player to an already active mix of retail, dining, and leisure.
