From infrastructure upgrades to electric grid maintenance, several road closures are scheduled across Delaware County. Here’s what you need to know to plan your routes accordingly:
Glick Road West-bound Lane Closure
- Duration: April 15 to July 22, 2024.
- Timing: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Location: West-bound lane over the O’Shaughnessy Dam, from Sawmill Road to Dublin Road.
- Details: A City of Columbus project involving masonry and lighting repairs at the power gatehouse, outlet gatehouse, and pavilion, along with guardrail baluster replacements.
- Impact: Westbound traffic affected; eastbound lane remains open.
- Note: Fully open during The Memorial Tournament, June 3-9, 2024.
Piatt Road Closure
- Duration: Up to 2 weeks, starting April 29, 2024.
- Timing: Weekdays: 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Weekends: 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
- Location: From Glenmead Drive to Preston Fields Drive, including intersections.
- Details: Closure for American Electric Power’s transmission line replacement due to storm damage.
- Impact: Significant delays expected; alternative routes advised.
- School Traffic: Berlin High School, Middle School, and Cheshire Elementary School routes outlined.
- Closure Map
- Berlin High School – Traffic entering/exiting from the north or Berlin Station Road will not be impacted. If you must go to/from the south on Piatt Road, you should expect delays with closure of the section between the middle and high school.
- Berlin Middle School – Traffic should enter to/from the south on Piatt Road. If you must go to/from the north on Piatt Road, you should expect delays with closure of the section between the middle and high school.
- Cheshire Elementary School – Traffic should enter/exit from Gregory Road via Berlin Station Road when possible; otherwise use Glenmead Drive to Piatt Road south.
S. Section Line Road Closure
- Duration: May 6 to May 9, 2024.
- Location: Between Marysville Road (US 36 W) and Warrensburg Road.
- Details: Culvert Replacement Project.
- Impact: Closure affecting traffic flow; plan alternate routes.
Hyatts Road Closure
- Duration: May 6 to May 19, 2024.
- Location: Between Bishop Blvd. and Sawmill Parkway.
- Details: Widening of Hyatts Road.
- Impact: Closure for construction purposes; seek alternative routes.
Monkey Hollow Road Closure
- Duration: May 6 to May 10, 2024.
- Location: Between Plantation Road and Patrick Road.
- Details: Bridge Guardrail Repair Project.
- Impact: Closure in effect; consider alternate routes.
During these closures, authorities will be on-site to assist with traffic management. Plan ahead and consider alternate routes to minimize disruptions to your commute.
