Last week, the Board of Health voted to approve the hiring of Garrett Guillozet as the next Health Commissioner of the Delaware Public Health District.
Guillozet has over 17 years of direct experience in local public health, including most recently serving as the Health Commissioner for Ross County Health District since 2020. In addition, Guillozet has served as Division Manager at Franklin County Public Health in the environmental health division. He currently serves as Chair of the Ohio Public Health Advisory Board, Treasurer of the Ohio Public Health Association, an At-Large Director of the Association of Ohio Health Commissioners, and Past President of Ohio Environmental Health Association. He is an Ohio Registered Environmental Health Specialist and an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. Guillozet received his undergraduate degree from Ohio Northern University and his Master of Public Administration in Public Health Policy from Kent State University.

In September, Health Commissioner Shelia Hiddleson announced to the Board of Health her plans to retire from the Health District on Dec. 31, 2022 as she has accepted a full-time position with the national Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB).
