Ongoing public conversation about the proposed Blues Creek Planned Residential Development will continue on Monday night as Ostrander Village Council holds a special meeting. An Executive Session will be held at 6:30 PM, and the public meeting will take place immediately afterward.

Under consideration by Council is an annexation, development plan, and related rezoning request. The Blues Creek Development would have 99 units, primarily traditional single family homes.

During a meeting earlier this month, Mayor Larry Crile explained that the project would involve creation of a Community Development Authority, a public/private partnership governed by a board which would include village and developer representation. The Authority can be used for capital improvements. The question remains, according to Crile, whether it is the right tool for the Village.[widgets_on_pages id=1]

Topics discussed included commercial development; US36 traffic; possible impact fees; and empty nesters homes possibly ruling out commercial development in the future. The suggestion was made to table the conversation until Authority documents could be reviewed, and the present meeting was set for Monday night.

The Development Plan submitted in April, which includes details on location, housing types, and extensive information can be found here.
