The City of Delaware is inviting residents to join a Public Open House to review and discuss the Southeast Focus Area Plan, an important part of the Delaware Together comprehensive plan.

This event will take place on Thursday, February 13, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Olentangy Berlin Middle School, located at 2500 Piatt Rd., Delaware.

Shaping the Future of Delaware’s Southeast Area

The Southeast Focus Area Plan is a key element of the larger Delaware Together initiative, which aims to steer the city’s long-term growth and development. It is one of six focus areas selected for in-depth planning, as these regions are anticipated to undergo significant changes in the coming decade.

Covering over 3,000 acres within the city’s planning area, the Southeast Focus Area Plan follows the completion of the Southwest Focus Area Plan, which received City Council approval in June 2024. The planning process involves several rounds of public engagement, including an online survey that has already been conducted to collect community feedback.

A summary of the initial engagement round will be shared soon.

Final Public Review Opportunity

The upcoming open house serves as the second and final public review session, providing residents with the opportunity to:

  • View the draft plan
  • Share feedback on proposed developments
  • Discuss priorities for infrastructure, green space, and transportation

City officials stress that public input is crucial for creating a plan that meets community needs and supports future growth. Residents, business owners, and stakeholders are strongly encouraged to take part.

Can’t Attend? Share Your Ideas Online For those who cannot attend in person, an online feedback platform will be available starting February 6. Community members can review the plan and submit their thoughts at DelawareOHFocusAreas.org.

For further questions or to get involved in the planning process, residents can reach out to: Anna Kelsey, Planning and Zoning Administrator, at [email protected].
