Starting January 1, 2025, a convenience will be added to all credit and debit card transactions with the City of Delaware.

Since 2020, the city has absorbed the service fees assessed by credit card companies. In fiscal year 2024, the City estimates it will pay about $300,000 in these fees. This issue was discussed with the City Finance Committee during FY 2025 budget work sessions, and it was determined that the city should no longer pay the fees.

Delaware residents and customers doing business with the City of Delaware can avoid paying a convenience fee by using other payment options. Please contact the following for more information:
