The City of Delaware has shared important updates to help residents plan ahead for waste collection and office closures. Here’s what you need to know:
Adjusted Office Hours and Refuse Collection
π December 24
- City Offices: Close at 12:00 PM
- Collections: Operate on an accelerated schedule
π December 25
- City Offices: Closed for Christmas Day
- Collections: Adjusted to Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
π January 1, 2025
- City Offices: Closed for New Year’s Day
- Collections: Follow the same adjusted schedule
Special Holiday Collection Details
π Additional Bag Collection
From December 26 to January 8, 2025, non-tagged refuse bags placed outside of tipcarts will be collected without penalty.
π² Live Christmas Tree Pickup
- Collection runs from December 30 to January 31.
- Ensure all decorations, lights, and plastic wrapping are removed.
- Residual yard waste will also be picked up during this time.
