It’s well-known as one of the three jewels in the Triple Crown of Harness Racing.

Post time for the 2019 edition of the Little Brown Jug will be Thursday at 11:30 AM at the Delaware County Fairgrounds racetrack. Run on what is considered the fastest half-mile track in the world, this is the premier pacing classic for 3 year olds.The first Little Brown Jug was run in 1946.  Ensign Hanover won that first race, claiming $35,358 in prize money. Some 27,000 people watched the inaugural race. The race is named for Little Brown Jug, a pacer, who won nine consecutive races and became a USTA Hall of Fame Immortal in 1975.

You can catch the action on Thursday via your radio or online through the Little Brown Jug Network — WQTT 1270-AM, 96.7 FM and WDLR 1550 AM and 92.9 FM. The broadcast will begin at 11:00 AM.
