This month, contractors for the City of Delaware have begun the process of implementing new water lines and fire hydrants along Troy Road, stretching from Hills-Miller Road to Buttermilk Hill Road.

Elite Excavating Co. of Ohio Inc. will carry out the work within the road rights of way, aiming for completion by June 2023, provided the weather cooperates. Horizontal directional drilling will be employed to minimize open excavations. Following the installation and activation of the new water line, pavement and turf restoration will ensue.

The City’s Water Capacity Improvement fund is financing the project.

Although efforts will be made to minimize construction disruptions, local residents may encounter road closures, traffic delays, limited street parking, and increased noise during regular business hours. The City will strive to give a 24-hour advance notice for any non-emergency water shut down, but residents might experience brief periods without water service.

For any public inquiries, please contact the Public Utilities Department at 740-203-1904.
