Booking a Dublin Connector ride can now be handled from a smartphone, giving eligible riders another way to plan trips and follow their vehicle’s arrival. The City of Dublin has introduced the Flexigo mobile app for the fare-free, on-demand transportation service. Available for Apple and Android devices, the app allows riders to request transportation, manage reservations and receive real-time information about their trips.
Transportation For Residents And Workers
The Dublin Connector serves several groups traveling within the city, including Dublin residents age 55 and older, residents with disabilities and employees commuting to and from workplaces in Dublin. The service connects riders with destinations including medical appointments, stores, recreational facilities and employment sites. Because transportation is provided on demand rather than through a fixed bus route, riders arrange trips based on their individual schedules and destinations.
Until now, riders have been able to reserve transportation by telephone. That option remains available, but Flexigo provides a self-service alternative for those who prefer using a mobile device.
Booking And Tracking Through The App
After downloading Flexigo from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, riders can create an account and begin managing their trips.
The app allows users to:
- Request a ride
- Schedule future trips
- View pickup details
- Track a vehicle in real time
- Review and manage upcoming reservations
Rides can be requested as little as two hours before the desired pickup time, although the city recommends providing at least 24 hours’ notice whenever possible. Trips may also be scheduled up to six weeks in advance. Reservations are accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis, making advance booking particularly useful for appointments or regularly scheduled trips.
The city has published a Flexigo user guide explaining how to create an account, schedule transportation and use the app’s other features.
Service Hours Vary By Rider Group
Dublin Connector transportation is available Monday through Saturday, although operating hours depend on the type of rider. Workforce transportation is available from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Service for older adults and riders with disabilities is available from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The service does not charge riders a fare.
Those who do not wish to use the app, or who need assistance making a reservation, can continue booking rides by calling 833-742-7333.
Additional eligibility requirements, rider guidelines and service information are available through the City of Dublin’s Mobility webpage.
