Downtown Dublin is getting ready for a summer built around movement, music and movies. The Dublin Summer Fun Series will bring a full slate of free outdoor programming to Riverside Crossing Park beginning in June, offering residents and visitors a reason to gather downtown throughout the week. The series includes fitness classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, live music on Wednesdays and monthly Saturday movie nights.
The series is presented with support from Amazon.
Fitness By The River
The summer begins with Empower Hour, a twice-weekly fitness series designed to help participants mix up their routines in an outdoor setting. Classes will take place at 6:00 PM every Tuesday and Thursday beginning June 9. Tuesday sessions will focus on yoga or other stretch-based, low-impact workouts, while Thursday sessions will feature higher-intensity, cardio-based classes sponsored by Orangetheory Fitness.
Guests are encouraged to bring a water bottle and fitness mat.
The first class, Functional Strength and Mobility, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, followed by Power Intervals on Thursday, June 11. The summer schedule continues through August 27, with classes rotating among Functional Strength and Mobility, Yoga, Power Intervals, Cardio & Core and Strength & Stability.
Each workout has a slightly different focus. Functional Strength and Mobility emphasizes range of motion, balance, joint stabilization and core strength. Yoga will use a Vinyasa-style approach, linking movement and breath. Power Intervals will feature short bursts of higher-intensity exercise followed by rest periods, with lower-impact options available. Cardio & Core combines aerobic movement with targeted strength work, while Strength & Stability will incorporate equipment such as mini bands and medicine balls.
Wednesday Nights With Music
Midweek Music will fill Riverside Crossing Park with free live performances on Wednesday evenings from June 10 through August 19; each concert will run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
The series opens June 10 with Oddjob Policy, featuring the best of 90s rock. The following weeks will bring a wide range of sounds, including blues, rock, soul, pop, country and funk.
The lineup includes LYD Ft. Yolanda on June 17, Rockhouse on June 24, Blue Spectrum on July 1, Serra Austin Band on July 8, KC & The Moonlighters on July 15, Lake Effect on July 22, Theo’s Loose Hinges on July 29, Lisa Curtis on August 5, School of Rock Dublin on August 12 and Session 5 on August 19.
Movies Under The Evening Sky
Cinema Saturdays will round out the series on the last Saturday of each month, giving families and movie fans a chance to settle in for outdoor screenings at Riverside Crossing Park. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and pick up dinner from Downtown Dublin before the films begin. Each movie night will start at 6:00 PM with a G- or PG-rated film, followed immediately by a second movie for older teens and adults, rated up to PG-13.
The schedule begins June 27 with Inside Out 2, followed by Black Panther. On July 25, the park will show A Christmas Story and Ready Player One. The August 29 lineup includes Finding Dory and Draft Day, followed by Zootopia 2 and Superman 2025 on September 26. The season concludes October 31 with Coco and Wicked: For Good.
This year’s Cinema Saturdays will focus exclusively on films made in Ohio or movies with an Ohio connection, as part of the state’s Ohio Goes to the Movies program.
A Summer Gathering Place
Together, the Summer Fun Series offers a steady rhythm for the season: workouts early in the week, music at midweek and movies on select Saturday evenings. For Downtown Dublin, Riverside Crossing Park will once again serve as a summer gathering place, with free activities designed for a wide range of ages, interests and schedules.
