In a world where communities often blend into one another, Genoa Township proudly stands apart. That message came through loud and clear in the newly released State of the Township 2024 video—part highlight reel, part heartfelt tribute to a place many call the best-kept secret in central Ohio.
That video can be viewed below.
“Nothing compares to the experience of being a part of this community and living it firsthand,” the narrator begins, setting the tone for a visual journey that’s less about statistics and more about spirit.
From witnessing a total solar eclipse from within the path of totality—a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle— to preserving cherished local landmarks like Freeman’s Farm, Genoa Township’s past year was marked by memorable moments and forward-thinking progress.
Growth Rooted in Community
The video captures how local flavor continues to thrive. Campfire Brewing opened its doors, Giamarco’s expanded, and Olive Branch is preparing to break ground on a new office right beside Township Hall. These aren’t just economic wins—they’re signs of a community in motion, balancing growth with hometown charm.
Sustainability wasn’t left behind either. Residents now have an easier time going green, thanks to expanded curbside recycling options. At the same time, essential infrastructure took a leap forward with Delco’s new water tower, built to meet the demands of a growing population while safeguarding future service.
Health and wellness made the list too. A mobile clinic visited neighborhoods, offering preventive care right at residents’ doorsteps—an example of community-focused innovation in action.
Looking Ahead with Confidence
Of course, it wouldn’t be Genoa Township without the traditions that bring families and neighbors together. The Bunny Trail, Fall Fest, and seasonal celebrations continued to foster that unmistakable Genoa feeling—the one you can’t quite describe, but instantly recognize.
Behind the scenes, the unsung heroes of local government were hard at work. Township staff, elected officials, and passionate residents collaborated daily to ensure smooth roads, safe neighborhoods, and beautiful parks. In times of need, residents know that trained professionals stand ready, equipped and prepared.
“I feel positive about the state of our Township,” said a confident Township leader in the video’s closing moments. “My confidence comes from the experienced and dedicated employees who care deeply about their work.”
With Board members Renee Bond, Connie Goodman, Fiscal Officer Patrick Meyers, and a whole team behind the scenes, Genoa Township enters 2024 poised for another standout year.
This isn’t just a recap. It’s an invitation—to get involved, to take pride, and to recognize that Genoa Township is more than a dot on the map. It’s a living, thriving, distinctly different community.
And that’s something worth celebrating.
