Genoa Township is on the lookout for township residents interested in serving on a board, commission, or committee to fill upcoming vacancies. With that in mind, it has opened an online portal to obtain applications from those interested in these positions.

According to the Township Handbook for these boards and commissions,

“Genoa Township has active Township boards, commissions, and committees. A description of the duties, purpose, and meeting schedules of each board, commission and committee is provided in this “Handbook”. A few of the boards, commissions and committees have statutory powers, while others serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Trustees. However, all members are appointed by the Board of Trustees on qualifications and willingness to serve our community and local government on a voluntary basis. Board, commission and committee members are a valuable part of American local government that adds citizen input into the policy and decision-making process.”

The Handbook is an excellent resource for obtaining additional information on the roles and responsibilities of each body.

The deadline for applying is January 17, 2021, after which the Township Board of Trustees will review all applications received.

New terms will begin on April 1, 2021.

While applications can be submitted online here, you can also print and send the application by regular mail. Instructions on how to do so are also included on the Application page.
