This year we’re continuing our weekly look at unique events and attractions that are within an easy driving distance of Delaware County. We call these “Summer Road Trips.” Of course, we regularly feature the many extraordinary places to visit right here in Delaware County and encourage our readers to get out and experience what is on offer in our own backyard.

Today we’re suggesting one of our shortest possible road trips — just 22 or so miles from Delaware, and perhaps even a shorter driving distance from Ashley. We’re also talking about a rarity — a brand new museum that commemorates the life of a President of the United States.

The Warren G. Harding Presidential Library & Museum has been the focus of local, regional, and national attention before and after its recent opening.

In May, 1822Marion published a post on the day before the facility’s opening, which can be accessed here:

Then, earlier this month, 1822Marion shared a story about a national travel magazine including the new library and museum in a list of reasons to visit Marion.

President Harding was of course born in Morrow County, but just a few hundred feet from the Richland County line.
