It’s back! Mohican Wildlife Weekend returns from April 23 to 25 with events taking place either virtually or within a very short drive from Delaware County.
Sure, it will be a bit different, given changes made related to the ongoing pandemic, but the enjoyable opportunities to interface with flora and fauna will be as plentiful as ever. The natural world awaits.
This 20th anniversary edition is called “SURVIVOR MOHICAN.” As always, programs will feature the area’s rich heritage, wildlife, recreation opportunities, and diverse natural resources. The best part of the event can be finding new venues you have never experienced, and then coming back again through the summer to engage in more in-depth visits.
A limited size of participants will be the rule with the number depending on the location. For those programs or venues which are outside, social distancing will be the rule though masks will be optional. Masks must be worn for visits to the inside of any participating venue, and sites will be thoroughly cleaned after each visit.
Safety protocols may change based on the then-current guidelines from the Ohio Department of Health and local health departments. It would be a good idea to check the Wildlife Weekend website or contact specific locations to verify that events are taking place.
A complete schedule of events can be found here, and includes tours, rides, hikes, workshops, demonstrations, displays, and much more. This is also where you can make online reservations.
Hurry, as some programs are already sold out for specific times.
