A little taste of Delaware County will be featured in holiday gift boxes across Ohio this year.

For the first time, the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) is offering an Ohio Proud Holiday Gift Box, bringing together a selection of foods, treats, and artisan products from small businesses throughout the state. Among the featured items is Raspberry Chocolate Jam from Glass Rooster Cannery in Sunbury, giving Delaware County a place in the inaugural collection.

The boxes, priced at $85 plus $15 for shipping and handling, are designed to showcase Ohio-made products while encouraging shoppers to support local businesses during the holiday season.

A Holiday Gift With Ohio Roots

This is part of the Ohio Proud program, which promotes products made, grown, and processed in Ohio.

“This year, we can all spread some Ohio Proud holiday cheer with the Ohio Proud Holiday Gift Box,” said Governor Mike DeWine. “This gift box is a great way to support Ohio agriculture while sharing a unique taste of home this holiday season.”

The collection features a variety of sweet and savory products, ranging from traditional chocolate buckeyes and locally produced maple syrup to specialty meats, coffee, sauces, and handcrafted soap. For Delaware County residents, the inclusion of Glass Rooster Cannery offers a particularly local connection. The Sunbury business’s Raspberry Chocolate Jam is one of the featured products, joining offerings from businesses in communities including Columbus, Cincinnati, Perrysburg, and Wadsworth.

What’s Inside the Box?

The inaugural Ohio Proud Holiday Gift Box includes:

  • Chocolate Buckeyes from Marsha’s Buckeyes in Perrysburg
  • Honey Cinnamon Creamed from Nate’s Nectar in DeGraff
  • Raspberry Chocolate Jam from Glass Rooster Cannery in Sunbury
  • Harvest Pumpkin Pretzels from Snacks with a Twist in Pickerington
  • Fino Salami from Foris Extraordinary Meats in Columbus
  • Apple Maple BBQ Sauce from Hays Orchard & Cider Mill in Columbiana
  • Caramel Praline Bourbon Pecans from Daveyboy’s Bourbon Pecans in Cincinnati
  • Holiday Blend coffee from SGT Coffee Co. in Gahanna
  • Frosted Buttercream Cookie from C.Krueger’s Finest Baked Goods in Columbus
  • Maple Syrup from Miller’s Sugar Camp in Wadsworth
  • Pumpkin Goat Soap from Sunnyview Farms in Mount Gilead
  • An America 250 Heart of Agriculture commemorative ornament

The mix reflects the variety of products produced by Ohio’s agricultural and food businesses, from traditional favorites to specialty creations.

Supporting Ohio Businesses One Gift at a Time

ODA Director Brian Baldridge said the collection is intended to highlight both the quality of Ohio products and the people who produce them.

“The Ohio Proud Holiday Gift Box showcases the quality of products made across our great state,” Baldridge said. “Each item has a unique story, a family behind it, and when customers purchase this gift, they’re directly supporting Ohio agriculture.”

Established in 1993, Ohio Proud is the Department of Agriculture’s marketing program dedicated to promoting Ohio food and agricultural products. The program helps consumers identify homegrown goods while providing marketing assistance to participating businesses.

The holiday gift box extends that mission into seasonal shopping, offering an alternative to traditional gift baskets with products sourced entirely from Ohio businesses. The Ohio Proud Holiday Gift Box is available for purchase at OhioProud.org while supplies last. With shipping included, the total cost is $100.

For Delaware County shoppers, it is also an opportunity to share something made close to home, with a Sunbury specialty tucked among the flavors of Ohio.
