Summer is when the most amount of work is undertaken on the region’s roadways. Below is information from the Ohio Department of Transportation for improvement and construction projects for Delaware and Franklin Counties during the coming week. (NOTE – Delaware County work has not been updated by ODOT since last week, but the Franklin County report is current).

As always, work is weather dependent.

New Impacts

U.S. 23 Spot Pavement Repairs

  • U.S 23 northbound between Hills Miller Rd and SR 229 will be reduced to one lane daily (7 p.m. – 3 p.m.) starting Monday, August 10th through Fall 2026
  • U.S 23 southbound between Hills Miller Rd and SR 229 will be reduced to one lane daily (7 p.m. – 3 p.m.) starting Monday, August 10th through Fall 2026

SR 521/Blue Church Road Culvert Replacement

  • Blue Church Road south of SR 521 will close starting Monday, August 10 through Wednesday, August 19.
    • Detour: Blue Church Rd. to Wilson Rd. to SR 61 to SR 521 or reverse.
  • Blue Church Road north of SR 521 will close starting Wednesday, August 19 through Friday, August 28.
    • Detour: Blue Church Rd. to Kilbourne Rd. to SR 521 or reverse.

Continuing Impacts

SR 229 Resurfacing

  • SR 229 between U.S. 23 and the Village of Ashley will have various daytime lane restrictions (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) starting Monday, May 11 through Fall 2026.

I-71/U.S. 36/SR 37 Sunbury Parkway

  • The I-71 northbound ramp to U.S. 36/SR 37 will be reduced to one lane starting Wednesday, April 8 through Fall 2026.

I-270 Bridge Rehabilitation

  • The I-70 eastbound ramp to I-270 southbound will close overnight (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Friday, August 14
    • Detour: I-70 eastbound to Brice Rd. to I-70 westbound to I-270 southbound

I-670 Pavement Rehabilitation

  • I-670 eastbound between Nelson Rd. and Stelzer Rd. will be reduced to two lanes starting 7 p.m. Friday, August 14 through 5 a.m. Monday, August 17. I-670 eastbound will be reduced to one lane overnight (10 p.m. – 9 a.m.) Friday, August 14 and Saturday, August 15.

I-270 and Easton Way Intersection Improvements

  • The I-270 southbound ramp to Easton Way will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Sunday, August 16.
    • Detour: I-270 southbound to SR 317 to I-270 northbound to Easton Way

Cooke Rd. Repaving

  • The I-71 southbound ramp to Cooke Rd. will close overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Sunday, August 16.
    • Detour: I-71 southbound to North Broadway St. to I-71 northbound to Cooke Rd.

I-71/Main St. Interchange Improvements

  • The I-71 southbound ramp to Main St. will close overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Monday, August 17 through Saturday, August 22.
    • Detour: I-71 southbound to Spring St. to Broad St. to Parsons Ave. to Main St.

I-670 Bridge Rehabilitation

  • I-70 westbound under I-670 will have various overnight lane restrictions (8 p.m. – 6 a.m.) starting Monday, August 17 through Friday, August 21.
  • The Grandview Ave. ramp to I-670 westbound will be closed starting Monday, August 17th through Friday, August 21
    • Detour: Grandview Ave. northbound to U.S. 33 eastbound to I-670 westbound.
  • The U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to I-670 will close overnight (8p.m. – 6a.m.) Monday, August 17 through Friday, August 21.
    • Detour: U.S. 33 eastbound to Grandview Ave. southbound to I-670 eastbound.

I-71 Pavement Rehabilitation

  • The I-71 southbound ramp to Morse Rd. will close overnight (9:30 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Wednesday, August 19th.
    • I-71 southbound to Cookie Rd. to I-71 northbound to Morse Rd.
  • The Sinclair Rd. ramp to I-71 southbound will close overnight (9:30 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Wednesday, August 19th.
    • I-71 northbound to Overbrooke Dr. to I-71 southbound.
  • I-71 southbound over Morse Rd. will be reduced to one laneovernight (9:30 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Wednesday, August 19th.

I-71/Weber Road Bridge Repairs

  • I-71 southbound between N. Broadway Street and Weber Rd. will be reduced to one lane starting 10 p.m. Friday, August 21 through 5 a.m. Monday, August 24.
  • The N. Broadway Ramp to I-71 southbound will close starting 10 p.m. Friday, August 21 through 5 a.m. Monday, August 24.
    • Detour: Silver Rd SB to E. Weber Rd.

Continuing Impacts

I-270 Bridge Rehabilitation

  • I-270 between Alum Creek Dr. and I-70 on the southeast side will have various overnight lane restrictions (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Thursday, August 13th through Wednesday, September 30.

U.S. 33 Culvert Replacement

  • U.S. 33 between Fishinger Rd. and SR 161 will close starting Monday, August 3 for 45 days.
    • Detour: U.S. 33 to SR 161 to I-270 to Cemetery Rd./Fishinger Rd. or reverse.

I-70 Pavement Reconstruction

  • I-70 westbound traffic will be shifted to the eastbound side of the roadway starting overnight Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction through Fall 2026.

Far East Freeway

  • Brice Rd. over I-70 will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Saturday, August 2, 2025. Two left turn lanes on Brice Rd. northbound to I-70 WB will be maintained.
