On August 26 from 12-4 PM, Boardman Arts Park in Delaware will come alive with vibrant colors, innovative creations, and the sound of community laughter.
It’s the CREATE! A Community Art Making Event, a free family-focused gathering that encourages everyone to take part in crafting beautiful pieces that will enrich the park’s surroundings.
From large collaborative projects to individual crafts, this immersive, hands-on experience promises to foster creativity and bring people together. Whether you’re an experienced artist or someone who simply enjoys the process of creation, this event has something for you.
Activities for All – A Symphony of Creativity
Paint by Numbers Spin Board Installation
Create a lasting piece of art at the Park by choosing a color and painting a space on an artist-outlined piece. The result? A beautiful collective artwork that captures the spirit of the community.
Bottle Cap Art
Community-collected bottle caps are transformed into colorful Garden Art pieces in the Park’s outdoor Imagination Space. Be a part of this artist-led project and add a vibrant touch to the surroundings.
Eyeglass Lens Installation
A smaller version of a majestic three-story installation made from 14,000 eyeglasses, this community-built sculpture invites you to help in crafting a 9′ large eyeglass lens installation. Its final form will glisten and sparkle at the heart of the Imagination Space.
Recycled Art – Finding Home
Using recycled materials, participants will construct an outdoor sculpture that explores the concept of home. Connecting the past and the present, this piece will symbolize the comfort and peace that home brings.
Also – A Variety of Fun
Paper Ghost Writing, Web Painting, Pottery Throwing, Pour Paint, Wood Carving, Tai Chi, Square Dancing, Hip Hop, and Zumba, Blacksmithing, Chainsaw Art, Origami, Art Magnets, Paint A Car, Face Painting – there’s no end to the creativity at this event.
Free Admission, Endless Fun
The doors are open to all, with no admission fees. Come at any time during the event period to capture and revel in all the delightful activities and demonstrations. There will also be art pieces for sale from some of the featured artists, offering an opportunity to take home a memory from the event.
