Delaware County has a long history of being home to men and women who volunteer their time and energy to serve in unpaid positions on state boards and commissions.

That tradition appears to continue in 2022 as reflected in one of Governor DeWine’s most recent announcements concerning appointments to such bodies. This past week, the following two individuals were selected to serve:

Dilip Rasiklal Shah of Powell has been appointed to the Shawnee State University Board of Trustees for a term beginning June 27, 2022, and ending June 30, 2030.

Shawnee State University is a public university in Portsmouth. Established in 1986, Shawnee State is an open admissions university. It is the southernmost member of the University System of Ohio.

Dennis G. Shaffer of Galena has been appointed to the Banking Commission for a term beginning June 17, 2022, and ending January 31, 2026.

The commission advises the Ohio superintendent of banks on proposals to form new banks and on bank evaluations. It also conducts hearings to remove bank directors or officers.
