The City of Delaware Independence Day Celebration Schedule

🗓️ Tuesday’s Schedule

11 PM – 🎉 Delaware 4th of July parade, starting from the county fairgrounds main gate.

7:30 PM – 🎵 Central Ohio Symphony concert, at Phillips Glen, Ohio Wesleyan University

10 PM – 🎆 Fireworks will launch from the traditional location at the City’s Cherry Street property; viewing grounds along Henry Street and the Ohio Wesleyan athletic fields.

🚧 Street Impacts:

**No Parking July 4 from 9 am-1 pm on the following:**

– Pennsylvania Ave. from N Liberty St to N Sandusky St; and Sandusky St from Spring St to Pennsylvania Ave
– Pennsylvania Ave east from the fairgrounds
– Sandusky St south through the downtown to Wilmer St and Henry Street – 11 am-noon
– Henry Street between Wilmer and William streets as the parade concludes – noon-12:30 pm
– Hayes St off Henry Street – 5 pm to fireworks conclusion
– Henry St between Olentangy and Wilmer streets – 6 pm to fireworks conclusion
– Henry Street between Selby Stadium and William Street
– 6-7:30 pm Henry Street will remain open north and southbound until the Central Ohio Symphony concert starts.
– 7:30 pm – Henry Street north and southbound lanes will close at William Street

🎆 Fireworks:

**No parking permitted July 4 on the following streets:**

– Henry St from William St to Olentangy Ave from 7 am-midnight
– Wilmer St, Harrision St, Wootring St & Weiser Ave from Sandusky St to Henry St for 3 pm-midnight
– Olentangy Ave from Sandusky St to Armstrong Rd from 7 am-12 midnight
– Stratford Rd from Olentangy Ave to 200 ft south of Olentangy Ave 7 am-midnight
– Hayes St, entire length 7 am-midnight
– Armstrong Road entire length

🚴 The bikeway bridge over US23 will be open before and after the fireworks show; the bridge will be closed during the show and will not be available as a viewing spot.

🚗 Parking & 🍔 Food:

– Phillips Hall is open for handicap parking for Central Ohio Symphony concertgoers
– 🚚 Food truck vendors will be set up on Hayes Street and begin serving about 5 pm

🚻 Restrooms:

– Portable restrooms will be located in the OWU Building and Grounds parking lot by the OWU practice fields, outside the OWU Swimming Center, and outside the OWU softball field

🏢 Closings:

City offices are closed Tuesday, July 4 and residential refuse will not be collected that day. Tuesday’s collections will occur on Wednesday and the “Next Day” collection schedule will follow through Saturday, July 8.
