President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump have tested postiive for COVID-19 and will begin a “quarantine and recovery process immediately,” the president tweeted after midnight today.

Late Thursday, the president tweeted that he and the first lady would begin a “quarantine process” and were waiting for their test results after aide Hope Hicks tested positive for COVID-19.

The Associated Press reported that an administration official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Hicks began feeling mild symptoms after a rally in Minnesota on Wednesday, and her diagnosis was confirmed Thursday.

Gov. Mike DeWine has issued a statement which says, “Fran and I join our fellow Ohioans in praying for President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump after they announced early today that they have both tested positive for COVID-19.

“Along with millions of others, we extend our prayers and best wishes to the President and First Lady during this time for a speedy recovery and for their good health.”
