Judges David Sunderman and Marianne Hemmeter of the Delaware Municipal Court, as well as Cindy Dinovo, Clerk of Courts, have announced that the court will hold a driver’s license reinstatement clinic on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The clinic is coordinated with Southeastern Ohio Legal Services (Legal Aid), the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (“BMV”), Delaware County Child Support Enforcement Agency, Delaware County Department of Job and Family Services, Delaware City Prosecutor’s office, and Delaware Municipal Court Community Control.

Representatives from each of these agencies will be present to address driver’s license issues related to their particular offices.

Participants should pre-register by calling The Legal Aid Society of Columbus at 614-241-2001 or 888-246-4420. The pre-registration forms are available on the court’s website at www.municipalcourt.org.   Participants need not have an open case or even be a resident of Delaware County, but it is required that they have had a case in the Delaware Municipal Court in the past.

Similar clinics have been held in Franklin, Perry, and Licking counties  with high participation levels. They have been organized in response to the reinstatement fee amnesty program established by the state legislature through the BMV which ends on July 31. This program will allow eligible offenders to have some, and possibly all, of the reinstatement fees owed to the BMV waived.

Questions may be addressed by calling the Clerk’s office at (740) 203-1570 or visiting the Delaware Municipal Court website at www.municipalcourt.org.
