The 80th Little Brown Jug is set to bring thousands of fans to Delaware, Ohio, and this year offers a fresh way to enjoy one of harness racing’s greatest traditions.

The Little Brown Jug has long been considered a jewel of the Triple Crown of Harness Racing. Since 1946, it has crowned champions on the fastest half-mile track in the world and written new chapters in the century-old story of harness racing. Each September, the race closes out the week-long Delaware County Fair in unforgettable fashion.

The Race That Defines a Tradition

The Jug is famous for its “heat racing” format, where the best three-year-old pacers must prove their stamina and speed in more than one trip around the oval. That format has produced some of the sport’s most dramatic finishes and enduring rivalries. For fans, it’s more than just a race—it’s a test of heart, history, and community pride that makes Delaware the center of the harness racing world for one unforgettable afternoon.

A New Way to Celebrate

For 2025, race-goers can experience the excitement from the brand-new Jug Social Tent, a trackside beer garden created for fans who want to combine the thrill of racing with a lively social scene.

Inside, you’ll find specialty cocktails, craft beer, and plenty of chances to connect with fellow fans. Whether you’re networking, cheering with friends, or watching the action just a few steps from the track, the Jug Social Tent offers a setting unlike any other.

Your Ticket Includes More

Every admission ticket comes with your first beverage—alcoholic or nonalcoholic—sponsored by The Mill on Flax. From there, the choice is yours: sip, mingle, and enjoy the races as only Delaware can deliver.
