Building on last year’s highly successful Banquet in the Barn, the Delaware County Historical Society will be holding a virtual fundraiser – the UNBanquet in the Barn, on Friday, November 6 at 7 PM and will be a combination of live and recorded segments. The live segments will feature Emcee Jeff Robinson, Auctioneer Dan Boysel, and the historical society board president – Dave Hejmanowski. The recorded segments will include historic reenactments of notable Delaware residents who were buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, including John Van Deman and William Little.

The event will also feature auction items for bidding which will be reviewed (live) by auctioneer Dan Boysel. The items will be hosted by Collin Howard on Howard Auctioneer’s website – howardauctions.net, beginning November 6th and will run through November 14. Items available for bidding include artifacts, a Hocking Hills getaway, a Meeker Homestead brunch, and much more.

Delaware County Historical SocietyAs part of the event, the historical society is holding a Best Jammie Wearing Contest. In the spirit of “attending” the event in your living room, in your pajamas, photos of nine community leaders in their pajamas have been posted on the DCHS website – www.DelawareOhioHistory.org and the public is invited to vote on their favorite one(s). Contestants include Delaware County Sheriff Russ Martin, Mayor Carolyn Riggle, and DCHS President Emeritus Brent Carson. Votes are $1 each and contestants can be voted on more than once. The winner will be announced at the UnBanquet and prizes will be awarded.

Registrants will receive a discount on take-out food the night of the event, from Donato’s Pizza or J Gumbo’s. Tickets for this fundraiser are $50 each and can be reserved by going to the DCHS website. Sponsors will be part of the live, socially distanced audience.

This event is sponsored by Hilborn Insurance; Mail Pro 1; SFM Insurance; Fidelity Federal Savings and Loan; and Manos, Martin & Pergram Co., LPA. It is also supported by Donatos Pizza, J Gumbos, Scottish Ridge in Hocking Hills, Cheesecakes by Berni, All Occasions Catering, and Your Traveling Bartenders.
