Due to several factors, the Delaware County District Library will return to curbside and drive-thru services ONLY beginning Saturday, November 21. At this time, walkthrough browsing in library buildings will be suspended until further notice. At the Delaware County District Library we are constantly monitoring the current climate of COVID-19 occurrences, the local community, the response of our colleagues and peers, and the state of how we can best serve our public. Our decision to close walkthrough browsing includes facors like the rapid increase in coronavirus cases in Ohio, the State’s request to minimize exposure, border county’s joint health advisory and local school closures, all of which combined affect a large percentage of our Delaware Library staff.

We will continue to monitor the data, taking many factors into consideration and looking for a significant lasting trend in the right direction prior to reopening for walkthrough browsing.

Curbside and Drive-Thru services will remain for all users during the Library’s regular hours. Those unfamiliar with curbside or drive-thru services can read more here.

Delaware Library patrons have shown resilience over the past eight months and the Library will continue to be here to help our patrons as best we can. Continue to reserve items online, whether you use our app or the online catalog, request documents to be printed, search our scholarly websites, or have our librarians recommend your next book.

You can reach us by phone, email or website chat. We’ve recently added a plethora of resources specifically for students, including live tutors on-demand through Brainfuse HelpNow. Maybe you’ve got an immediate need to watch a documentary or stream some music – we’ve got that, too. We’ll even continue with our excellent array of virtual programs, since those don’t require entering our buildings. Do you see any new book clubs you’d like to join?

Follow us for updates on your preferred social media platform, whether that’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or even YouTube. We’ll keep you posted with what we know and when we can see you in our buildings again.
