Tax Day this year falls on a Monday, meaning that this weekend will be a busy time for last-minute filers.

For those required to file forms to the two cities completely within Delaware County, Delaware and Powell, we have some reminders below.

Delaware. The Delaware City Hall Tax Office is open this Saturday, April 13 from 9 AM to 1 PM and extended hours until 7 PM on Monday, April 15. The income tax filing deadline is 7 PM on April 15. Office hours this week are 8 AM to 5 PM. Tax information is available at 740-203-1225 or incometax@delawareohio.net

The Delaware tax return is due on or before April 15 each year.  For business taxpayers, the return is due on or before the 15th day of the fourth month after the fiscal year ends.  Returns postmarked after the due date are subject to a late filing penalty.  The income tax rate is 1.85 percent. You can file online here.

Powell. All residents of Powell are required to complete yearly Municipal Income Tax Returns – no matter the resident’s age or amount of wages/income. The City’s income tax is collected by the Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA). Tax information and forms are available at www.ritaohio.com or by calling the local Columbus office at 866.721.7482.
