Summer is fast approaching, and crews are already back at work doing important updates on area roadways. As in years past, we will be providing weekly updates for projects in Delaware and Franklin Counties.
The following is scheduled to take place during this week according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
DELAWARE
New Impacts
State Route 315 Slip Repairs
- Starting Monday, May 11, access to Bunty Station Rd. from U.S. 23 will be restricted. Access will be maintained via local roadways.
Continuing Impacts
U.S. 36/SR 37 ‘Point’ Improvements
- SR 37 (Central Ave.) between U.S. 36 and U.S. 42 will close starting Monday, April 13 for 45 days.
- Detour: U.S. 36 to U.S. 42 to SR 37 or reverse.
I-71/U.S. 36/SR 37 Sunbury Parkway
- The I-71 northbound ramp to U.S. 36/SR 37 will be reduced to one lane starting Wednesday, April 8 through Fall 2026.
- I-71 southbound between U.S. 36/SR 37 and Polaris Parkway will close overnight (11 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Tuesday, April 28 through Saturday, May 2.
- Detour: U.S. 36/SR 37 to SR 3 to Polaris Parkway to I-71 southbound
State Route 315 Slip Repairs
- SR 315 between SR 750 and U.S. 23 will close starting Monday, March 30 for 120 days.
- Detour: U.S. 23 to SR 750 to SR 315 or reverse.
FRANKLIN
New Impacts
Far East Freeway
- I-70 westbound at Brice Rd. will close overnight (11 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Wednesday, May 6 and Thursday, May 7. Traffic will be maintained via the Brice Rd. on and off ramps to I-70 westbound.
- Brice Rd. at I-70 will close overnight (11 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Wednesday, May 6 and Thursday, May 7.
- Detour: Livingston Ave. to SR 256 to Tussing Rd. to Brice Rd. or reverse.
- The I-70 eastbound ramp to Brice Rd. northbound will close overnight (7 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Wednesday, May 6 through Friday, May 8.
- Detour: Brice Rd. southbound to Tussing Rd. to SR 256 to Livingston Ave. to Brice Rd.
- The I-270 northbound ramp to I-70 eastbound on the east side will close overnight (10 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Friday, May 8.
- Detour: I-270 northbound to I-70 westbound to SR 317/Hamilton Rd. to I-70 eastbound
- The I-270 southbound ramp to I-70 eastbound on the east side will close overnight (10 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Friday, May 8.
- Detour: I-270 southbound to I-70 westbound to SR 317/Hamilton Rd. to I-70 eastbound
- I-70 eastbound between I-270 and Brice Rd. will have various overnight lane restrictions (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Friday, May 8.
State Route 161 Noise Walls
- The New Albany Rd. ramp to SR 161 westbound will close overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Wednesday, May 6 through Friday, May 8.
- Detour: New Albany Rd. to SR 161 eastbound to U.S. 62 to SR 161 westbound
- The New Albany Rd. ramp to SR 161 westbound will close overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15.
- Detour: New Albany Rd. to SR 161 eastbound to U.S. 62 to SR 161 westbound
Weber Road Bridge Repairs
- The N. Broadway Ramp to I-71 southbound will close overnight (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Thursday, May 7.
- Detour: N Broadway St. to Silver Dr. to Weber Rd. to I-71 southbound
I-670 Spot Pavement Repairs
- I-670 eastbound between 5th Ave. and I-270 will be reduced to two lanes starting 7 p.m. Friday, May 15 through 5 a.m. Monday, May 18.
- I-670 eastbound between 5th Ave. and I-270 will be reduced to one lane overnight (10 p.m. — 9 a.m.) Friday, May 15.
Continuing Impacts
I-270 Resurfacing and Bridge Rehabilitation
- Starting Friday, April 24, the left lane of I-270 southbound at U.S. 33 will shift into a contraflow pattern. One lane of I-270 southbound and two lanes of I-270 northbound will be maintained in the existing northbound lanes. Two lanes of I-270 southbound will be maintained on the southbound side of the roadway, and the outside lane will be exit only to U.S. 33 eastbound. This traffic pattern will remain in place for 30 days.
- The U.S. 33 westbound ramp to I-270 southbound will close starting Wednesday, April 22 for 30 days.
- Detour: U.S. 33 westbound to SR 104 to U.S. 33 eastbound to I-270 southbound
- The U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close starting Wednesday, April 22 for 30 days.
- Detour: U.S. 33 eastbound to Hamilton Rd. to U.S. 33 westbound to I-270 northbound
E. Broad St. at S. Hamilton Rd. Intersection Improvements
- Hamilton Rd. southbound between Broad St. and Fairway Blvd. will be reduced to one lane starting Thursday, April 2 through June 2026.
I-70 Pavement Reconstruction
- I-70 westbound traffic will be shifted to the eastbound side of the roadway starting overnight Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction through Fall 2026.
- The Hilliard Rome Rd. ramp to I-70 westbound will clsoe starting Monday, April 6 for 60 days.
- Detour: Hilliard Rome Rd. to U.S. 40 westbound to SR 142 to I-70 westbound
Far East Freeway
Brice Rd. over I-70 will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Saturday, August 2, 2025. Two left turn lanes on Brice Rd. northbound to I-70 WB will be maintained.
