This weekly report from ODOT District 6 highlights road construction projects which are beginning or underway in the multi-county area it serves. What follows are posted projects taking place within Delaware and Franklin Counties. Please stay safe and pay attention to these closures and work taking place during the week beginning on June 19.

DELAWARE COUNTY
U.S. Route 42
CONTINUING IMPACTS
U.S. 42 Resurfacing – U.S. 42 northbound between Section-Line Rd. and Sawmill Parkway will close starting Monday, May 2 for 84 days. Detour: SR 257 northbound to U.S. 36 eastbound to U.S. 23 southbound to U.S. 42.
FRANKLIN COUNTY
U.S. Route 33
NEW IMPACTS
U.S. 33 eastbound and westbound between SR 745 and Riverside Dr. will have daily lane restrictions (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) starting Monday, June 20 through Friday, July 1 for bridge inspections.
Interstate 70
NEW IMPACTS
- I-70 eastbound and westbound between Kelton Ave. and U.S. 33 will have nightly lane restrictions (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Sunday, June 19 through Monday, August 1 for pavement work.
- The U.S. 33 ramp to I-70 westbound will close nightly (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Sunday, June 19 through Monday, August 1.
- Detour: U.S. 33 to Livingston Ave. to I-70 westbound
- The Alum Creek Drive ramp to I-70 westbound will close nightly (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Sunday, June 19 through Monday, August 1.
- Detour: Alum Creek Dr. southbound to I-70 eastbound to James Rd. to I-70 westbound.
Interstate 71
UPCOMING NEW IMPACTS
The I-71 southbound ramp to U.S. 62 will close starting 6 p.m., Friday, June 24 through 7 a.m., Monday, June 27.
- Detour: I-71 southbound to SR 56 to I-71 northbound to US 62.
State Route 315
NEW IMPACTS
- Olentangy River Rd. between Highland Dr. and Henderson Rd, will have daily lane restrictions (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) starting Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24.
- The Olentangy River Rd. ramp to SR 315 southbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Thursday, June 23.
- Detour: Olentangy River Rd. to Bethel Rd. to SR 315 southbound.
- SR 315 southbound between Henderson Rd. and N. Broadway St. will have overnight lane restrictions (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Thursday, June 23.
Interstates 70/71 Reconstruction – I-70/71 will experience lane restrictions through downtown Columbus to widen and reconstruct the roadway, replace bridges over the interstate, rebuild ramps, and construct new urban avenues parallel to the interstate. Various downtown ramps will permanently close. Estimated completion: Fall 2025

- The Cleveland Ave. ramp to I-71 southbound will close overnight (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Sunday, June 19.
- Detour: Cleveland Ave. to I-71 northbound to 11th Ave. to I-71 southbound.
- The I-670 eastbound ramp to I-71 southbound will close overnight (7 p.m.- 5 a.m.) on Sunday, June 19.
- Detour: I-670 eastbound to I-71 northbound to 11th Ave. to I-71 southbound.
- The I-670 westbound ramp to I-71 southbound will close overnight (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Sunday, June 19.
- Detour: I-670 westbound SR 315 southbound to I-71 southbound.
- The I-71 southbound ramp to Main St. will close overnight (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Sunday, June 19.
- Detour: I-71 southbound to I-670 westbound to SR 315 southbound to I-70 eastbound to Livingston Ave. to 4th St. to Main St.
- I-71 southbound between Long St. and Main St. will have overnight lane restrictions (10 p.m. -5 a.m.) on Sunday, June 19.
- Souder Ave. between Mound St. and Thomas Ave. will close starting June 20, 2022 for one year.
- Southbound detour: Davis Ave. northbound to Sullivant Ave. westbound to Glenwood Ave. southbound to Mound St. eastbound
- Northbound detour: Mound St. westbound to Glenwood Ave. northbound to Sullivant Ave. eastbound.
CONTINUING IMPACTS
- The I-70 eastbound exit ramp to Front St. closed permanently June 17, 2022 so crews can construct a new exit ramp. The detour is I-70 east to Livingston Ave. to N. 4th St. to W. Mound St. to High St. or Front St. To access the Franklin County Court House parking garage on Front St., drivers should follow the detour to southbound High St. and continue to Sycamore St. to northbound Front St.
- W. Fulton St. closed permanently June 17, 2022 between Short St. and Ludlow St.
- Livingston Ave. closed to through traffic at City Park Ave. on June 17, 2022 until Fall 2024. Traffic coming from the exit ramp will not be impacted.
- The I-70 eastbound ramp to SR 315 northbound closed permanently March 20, 2022. Drivers coming from I-270 on the West Side should use I-670 east to access SR 315 north. Alternate routes include:
- I-70 east to I-71 north to I-670 west to SR 315 north
- Central Ave. to McKinley Ave to Grandview Ave. to I-670 east to SR 315 north
- Rich/Town St. to SR 315 north
- The Broad St. ramp to I-71 southbound closed in July 2020 until Summer 2022.
- Broad St. is reduced to two lanes westbound and one lane eastbound on the bridge over Interstate 71. Traffic is shifted to the new south half of the bridge so crews can demolish and rebuild the north half. This traffic pattern on Broad St. will remain in effect until Summer 2022.
