This weekly report from ODOT District 6 highlights road construction projects which are beginning or underway in the multi-county area it serves. What follows are posted projects taking place within Delaware and Franklin Counties. Please stay safe and pay attention to these closures and work taking place during the week beginning on May 29.

DELAWARE COUNTY

Interstate 71

NEW IMPACTS
I-71 northbound between E. Powell Rd. and U.S. 36 will have nightly lane restrictions (9 p.m. – 6 a.m.) starting Tuesday, May 31 through Thursday, June 2.

U.S. Route 42

CONTINUING IMPACTS

U.S. 42 Resurfacing – U.S. 42 northbound between Section-Line Rd. and Sawmill Parkway will close starting Monday, May 2 for 84 days. Detour: SR 257 northbound to U.S. 36 eastbound to U.S. 23 southbound to U.S. 42.


FRANKLIN COUNTY

U.S. Route 62

NEW IMPACTS
U.S. 62 northbound and southbound at I-71 will close overnight (10 p.m. – 6 a.m.) on Tuesday, May 24.

  • Southbound detour: SR 665 to I-71 southbound to SR 56 to I-71 northbound U.S. 62.
  • Northbound detour: I-71 northbound to SR 665 to U.S. 62.

Interstate 71

NEW IMPACTS

I-71 northbound between Park Rd. and Polaris Pkwy. will have daily lane restrictions (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) starting Monday, May 23 through Friday, May 27.

State Route 315

NEW IMPACTS

  • The Olentangy River Rd. ramp to SR 315 southbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Thursday, May 26.
    • Detour: Olentangy River Rd. to Bethel Rd. to SR 315 southbound.
  • SR 315 southbound between Henderson Rd. and N. Broadway St. will have overnight lane restrictions (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Thursday, May 26.
  • Olentangy River Rd. between Highland Dr. and Henderson Rd, will have daily lane restrictions (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) starting Monday, May 23 through Friday, May 27.

Interstate 270

NEW IMPACTS

  • I-270 northbound and southbound at Sullivant Ave. will have nightly lane restrictions (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Monday, May 23 through Thursday, May 26.
  • The Sullivant Ave. bridge over I-270 will close starting Monday, June 6 for 3 months.
    • Detour: Norton Rd. to W. Broad St. to Georgesville Rd. to Sullivant Ave. or reverse.

NEW IMPACTS

I-270 eastbound and westbound between Worthington-Galena Rd. and Schrock Rd. will have nightly lane restrictions (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Sunday, May 22 through Thursday, May 26.

NEW IMPACTS

I-270 eastbound and westbound between I-71 and U.S. 23 will have nightly lane restrictions (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Monday, May 23 through Thursday, May 26.


Interstates 70/71 Reconstruction – I-70/71 will experience lane restrictions through downtown Columbus to widen and reconstruct the roadway, replace bridges over the interstate, rebuild ramps, and construct new urban avenues parallel to the interstate. Various downtown ramps will permanently close. Estimated completion: Fall 2025

  • The Miller/Kelton Ave. ramp to I-70 westbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Sunday, May 22 and Monday, May 23.
    • Detour: Miller Ave. to Mooberry St. eastbound to I-70 eastbound to Alum Creek Dr. to Livingston Ave. eastbound to I-70 westbound.
  • The Main St./Parsons Ave. ramp to I-71 northbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Sunday, May 22 and Monday, May 23.
    • Detour: Parsons Ave. to Hamilton Rd. to Long St. westbound to I-71 northbound.
  • The I-71 northbound ramp to Broad St. will close overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Sunday, May 22 and Monday, May 23.
    • Detour: I-71 northbound to 11th Ave. to I-71 southbound to Main St. to Parsons Ave. to Broad St.
  • The I-70 westbound ramp to I-71 northbound will close overnight (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Sunday,. May 22 and Monday, May 23.
    • Detour: I-70 westbound to SR 315 northbound to I-670 eastbound to I-71 northbound.
  • I-71 northbound and southbound between Main St. and Broad St. will have overnight lane restrictions (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Sunday, May 22 and Monday, May 23.
  • I-70 westbound between Miller/Kelton Ave. and I-71 will have overnight lane restrictions (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Sunday, May 22 and Monday, May 23.
  • The Cleveland Ave. ramp to I-71 southbound will close overnight (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 25.
    • Detour: Cleveland Ave. to I-71 northbound to 11th Ave. to I-71 southbound.
  • The I-670 eastbound ramp to I-71 southbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 25.
    • Detour: I-670 eastbound to I-71 northbound to 11th Ave. to I-71 southbound.
  • The I-670 westbound ramp to I-71 southbound will close overnight (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 25.
    • Detour: I-670 westbound to SR 315 southbound to I-71 southbound.
  • I-71 southbound between Long St. and Broad St. will have overnight lane restrictions (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) on Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 25.
  • I-71 northbound and southbound at Broad St. will have intermittent, short-term, overnight closures (midnight – 5 a.m.) on Friday, May 27.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

  • The I-70 eastbound ramp to SR 315 northbound closed permanently March 20, 2022. Drivers coming from I-270 on the West Side should use I-670 east to access SR 315 north. Alternate routes include:
    • I-70 east to I-71 north to I-670 west to SR 315 north
    • Central Ave. to McKinley Ave to Grandview Ave. to I-670 east to SR 315 north
    • Rich/Town St. to SR 315 north
  • The Broad St. ramp to I-71 southbound closed in July 2020 until Summer 2022.
  • Broad St. is reduced to two lanes westbound and one lane eastbound on the bridge over Interstate 71. Traffic is shifted to the new south half of the bridge so crews can demolish and rebuild the north half. This traffic pattern on Broad St. will remain in effect until Summer 2022.
