The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Parks and Watercraft has officially opened its online lottery for public boat dock slips. The application period will run until 11:59 p.m. on October 31. This lottery offers boaters a unique opportunity to secure a spot at some of Ohio’s most sought-after boating destinations for the spring of 2024.

Apply for the Dock Lottery

Participating State Parks Include Alum Creek, Delaware

Boat owners can apply for a variety of state parks, each offering its own unique boating experience. The parks included in this year’s lottery are Alum Creek, Buck Creek, Buckeye Lake, Burr Oak, Caesar Creek, Delaware, Dillon, Guilford Lake, Indian Lake, Lake Milton, Mary Jane Thurston, Mosquito Lake, Paint Creek, Salt Fork, Shawnee, and West Branch.

Application Requirements

Interested participants are required to submit an online application along with proof of watercraft ownership and current registration. Applicants have the flexibility to apply for multiple parks, but there is a limit of one application per household per park.

Renewal Privileges for Winners

Those fortunate enough to win a spot in the lottery will have the option to renew their dock rental privileges for up to five years, renewable each spring. This offers a long-term solution for boaters looking for a consistent and reliable docking location.
