The season of joy, community, and twinkling lights is upon us as Ostrander prepares to unfurl its 3rd Annual Christmas in the Village celebration. This year’s festivities promise an evening brimming with holiday cheer, taking place on Saturday, December 9, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Ostrander Civic Association, known for its commitment to fostering community spirit, is the proud sponsor of this beloved event.

Santa’s Grand Entrance and the Magic of the Season

As the sun begins to set, the anticipation will build until the clock strikes 5:00 PM, marking the grand arrival of Santa Claus himself. Children and adults alike are invited to revel in the magic of the season as the jolly figure makes his way into the heart of the village. This moment is not just a highlight for the kids; it’s a photo opportunity that families won’t want to miss – so remember to bring your cameras!

Warm Delights and Festive Activities

Attendees can indulge in warm cups of hot chocolate, a staple of holiday warmth, as they immerse themselves in an array of engaging activities. With music setting the festive backdrop, visitors can create holiday crafts, a wonderful way to make memories and keepsakes. The joy continues as everyone gets a chance to decorate a cookie, adding a sweet touch to the evening’s offerings. And let’s not forget the goodie bags that add a sprinkle of surprise to the event.

Illumination and Entertainment

The village will glow brighter with the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 PM, a quintessential holiday event that symbolizes the light and hope of the season, as does the live nativity which we be held. Post-ceremony, the atmosphere will resonate with the familiar tunes of holiday classics during the “Name That Tune” event at Jeb’s, a local favorite spot. It’s an opportunity for music aficionados and holiday enthusiasts to test their knowledge and engage in friendly competition.

Community Engagement and Support

All activities are free, ensuring that everyone in the community can partake in the fun. While the event is complimentary, the spirit of giving is alive, with the option for attendees to make donations at Mill Creek Carryout or online via PayPal at OstranderCivil@gmail.com. Those wishing to contribute can also use the convenient donate button on Facebook, a gesture that supports the Ostrander Civic Association in continuing such community-centric events.

This Christmas in the Village is more than just an event; it’s a testament to Ostrander’s vibrant community spirit.
