Main Street Delaware’s First Friday celebration in downtown Delaware on May 3 is sure to please both avid golfers and those who just like to hit a bucket of balls now and then.

On the same evening, a free event will raise awareness for the important issue of sexualized violence toward women.

“Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®” is open to participants of all ages. Don sneakers, sandals, or even stilletos in playful opportunity to raise violence awareness, open up discussion, and identify agencies in place to help victims. It’s the community taking a stand to stop the violence, and literally, “walk a mile in her shoes.”

The walk will start and end on Sandusky Street south of William Street. Registration is from 6-6:30 PM and the Walk starts at 6:30 PM.

Also, enjoy a miniature putt-putt course around the downtown businesses for a fee of $5.00 per person.  Stop by the Main Street Delaware tent (at Winter and Sandusky Streets) to get your wristbands and scorecards.  Completed scorecards may be returned to the tent to be entered into a drawing to win a prize.  Putters and balls will be provided.

Putt-putting will take place from 6 PM to 9 PM.
