Music lovers in Delaware County have exciting opportunities coming up! The Central Ohio Symphony has teamed up with the Delaware County District Library (DCDL) to offer free concert admission to students ages 18 and under. Through this partnership, students can experience world-class music, including a special performance by the award-winning Dali Quartet, all with a Culture Pass from DCDL.

Dali Quartet at Liberty Library: October 10

Kicking off the festivities, the Dali Quartet will perform at Liberty Library on October 10. Known for their vibrant interpretations of both Latin American and traditional classical works, the quartet promises an evening of captivating music. This library performance is a chance for young audiences to experience a live performance in a more intimate setting, encouraging a lifelong love of music.

Concert at Gray Chapel: October 12

On October 12, the Central Ohio Symphony will host a concert at Gray Chapel, featuring both the Dali Quartet and Delaware’s own Hayes Players. This event highlights the local community’s musical talents and the Symphony’s commitment to fostering an appreciation for the arts among the next generation. The Dali Quartet, named Chamber Music America’s 2024 Ensemble of the Year, brings a repertoire that blends classical and Latin American influences with energy and skill that will captivate the audience.

Dali Quartet: Award-Winning Ensemble

The Dali Quartet has been widely recognized for its outstanding contributions to chamber music. They recently earned Chamber Music America’s 2024 Ensemble of the Year and the 2023 ACMP Foundation’s Susan McIntosh Lloyd Award for Excellence and Diversity in Chamber Music. Additionally, the Quartet received the 2021 Guarneri String Quartet Residency, funded by the Sewell Family Foundation, and took home the Silver Medal at the inaugural Piazzolla Music Competition. This group’s unique and expressive style makes them a must-see, bringing both prestige and a distinctive sound to Central Ohio.

Free Admission with a Culture Pass

Students under 18 can attend the October 12 concert at no cost, thanks to the Culture Pass program available through DCDL. Here’s how it works: students can visit any DCDL branch—Delaware, Liberty, Orange, Ostrander, Powell, or Outreach Services—to pick up a Culture Pass form. The completed form serves as the student’s free ticket to the concert. Additionally, one adult can fill out a Culture Pass form to purchase a ticket at half-price, making it easy for family members to accompany young music enthusiasts.

Not yet a DCDL member? The Culture Pass offers a great reason to sign up for a library card. A card not only grants access to free concert tickets but also opens up a world of books, movies, and other resources available at the library.
