After a one year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Ohio Symphony will again be featured entertainment during Delaware’s Fourth of July celebration.
The music and fun will take place this year on Independence Day itself, July 4.
The Symphony returns to its traditional venue, Phillips Glen on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University, behind Gray Chapel. A program of patriotic music will begin at 7:30 PM and will be followed by Delaware’s fireworks display.
Host for the evening will be Delaware City Schools Superintendent Heidi Kegley.
Limited seating is available in front of the stage; the price is $10 and reservations can be made here. Otherwise, free seating can be had on the wide lawns — just bring lawn chairs or perhaps a blanket and a picnic dinner.
The Central Ohio Symphony, under the baton of Jaime Morales-Malos, will be launching its 42nd season later this year with rescheduled and new programs.
A call has been placed over social media for assistance for the Symphony, which found out this month that July 4 is a “go.” Volunteers are needed for assisting guests, handing out programs, tear down, etc. — at various points between 2:30 PM and 11 PM that day.
