Great start of the year news came this week in the form of a report in the Columbus DIspatch article sharing news that a $500,000 trails grant is coming to Delaware County.

That article can be read here.

The funding, which comes from the Clean Ohio Trail Fund, will allow Preservation Parks to complete a 2.25 mile section of the Ohio to Erie trail northeast of Sunbury.

Total cost of that project is $675,500, and the report indicates a hoped-for 2020 completion.

1808Delaware has previously reported on plans to complete sections of the Ohio to Erie Trail, which is a component part of the proposed Great American Rail Trail. Those posts can be found here and here. The 318 mile Ohio to Erie Trail runs from the southwest to the northeast of the state, crossing Delaware County.
