Fourteen extraordinary individuals will be honored for their community service at COAAA’s 47th Annual Hall of Fame recognition ceremony, an invitation-only event that will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at the Gallery at Champions in Columbus. Whether it’s helping someone in crisis, preparing meals for those in need, providing pro bono legal services, assisting homebound older adults, or connecting individuals to emergency items and resources, each inductee is dedicated to strengthening their communities and improving the lives of others.

Two of those honorees are residents of Delaware County.

COAAA hosts the event in May to celebrate Older Americans Month, a national campaign led by the Administration for Community Living that acknowledges the profound impact older adults make in society. The Hall of Fame recognizes older adults 60 and older who reside in COAAA’s eight-county service area: Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Pickaway, and Union.

Be sure to visit COAAA’s website in mid-April when the agency releases inductee photos and biographies. COAAA will also share the inductee biographies on its social media platforms in early May leading up to the recognition ceremony. The following are the 2023 COAAA Hall of Fame inductees:

Eileen Brenner – Delaware County
Delma Jackson – Delaware County
David and Kathy Mowry – Fairfield County
Joanne Boysel – Fayette County
Roger Pry – Franklin County
Pamela Shields – Franklin County
Dick Wires – Franklin County
Ruby Hall – Licking County
Tom Lawrence – Madison County
Charlie and Darlene Weaver – Pickaway County
Bob and Jeannie Hildreth – Union County
