An Ohio Department of Natural Resources Naturalist undertook a tour of all 75 Ohio state parks…with the surprising goal of visiting all 75 within 10 days.

As she traveled, ‘Naturalist Richelle’ used internet and social media to blog and vlog her trip, allowing others to follow her adventures. She even participated in an “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) on the website Reddit.com, where she fielded questions including whether the state parks are open year-round (answer: yes) and the best path to becoming a naturalist (answer: major in Environmental Studies and/or Biology, and then of course apply for the job).

On day 5 of her adventure, Naturalist Richelle visited Delaware State Park, taking time to learn about planned and future park improvements. She then stopped by Alum Creek State Park, and highlighted the new story walk, campgrounds, and fossils for her blog readers.

If you’d like to read her full Day 5 blog post, or hear about the rest of her trip, head to the Ohio State Watercraft & Parks website.
