Special to 1808Delaware

The Bishops will battle in a basketball doubleheader Feb. 19, but the Bishop Backers are canceling Winter Community Day 2022 in recognition of the ongoing pandemic.

For those who attend the day’s basketball games, admission still will be free with a canned food donation to benefit the Delaware County Hunger Alliance, a United Way of Delaware County initiative. Facial coverings are required at this and all indoor OWU public events.

Any individual or organization that has purchased tablespace for the planned Delaware Expo will be contacted with a refund.

On Feb. 19, both the OWU women’s and men’s basketball teams will take on the Tigers of DePauw University. It will be senior day for both universities, and the games will mark the last regular season home competitions for the 2021-2022 Battling Bishops. The women’s game will tip-off at 1 p.m., and the men’s game will follow at 3 p.m.

The Bishop Backers thanks everyone for their ongoing support and looks forward to hosting Fall Community Day at Selby Stadium this autumn.

The Bishop Backers is an organization of community advocates interested in sharing information about athletics and other events at Ohio Wesleyan and in connecting potential student-volunteers, interns, and employees with local organizations. Learn more at www.owu.edu/BishopBackers.
