When College Consensus set out to create a list of American colleges and universities which might be underrated but which are also doing important and creative work, they took note of the programs at Ohio Wesleyan University.

As a result, the college was included in the top 50 of such schools – number 31, to be exact.

The common denominator among included institutions of higher education is described this way, “What distinguishes all of the colleges and universities featured on the “Great Things” ranking is that they are doing something unique, something innovative, something meaningful, that deserves to be more widely recognized.”[widgets_on_pages id=1]

One of the signature programs to which the article refers is the “OWU Connection,” which includes professional development into the curriculum, thereby giving students a “leg up” as they complete their schooling and move into careers.

Miami University of Ohio is number 32 on the list, right behind OWU. Other Ohio schools on the list include Oberlin and Hiram.
