Lovers of instrumental music are in luck this coming weekend as Ohio Wesleyan University hosts the 55th Annual President’s High School Band Festival.

This decades-long tradition takes place on Saturday, January 19 and will feature high school musicians from around the region as well as OWU’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by Professor Larry Griffin.

[widgets_on_pages id=1]In an online greeting to participating students by current University President Rock Jones, he shared, “It’s my pleasure to invite you to Ohio Wesleyan for the 2019 President’s High School Band Festival. I hope you will enjoy your time on our beautiful campus, and I’m confident you’ll learn a great deal from OWU’s superb music faculty and from one another as you play and create music together.”

A day of rehearsals, both collectively in and various sections, will culminate in a concert at 7 PM in Gray Chapel inside University Hall. The event will be streamed live at www.owu.edu/stream. Admission is free.
