Artificial intelligence can generate a draft, identify a pattern, and accelerate research. An upcoming Ohio Wesleyan University lecture will turn the discussion toward the capabilities that remain distinctly human. Wandia Chiuri, a 2005 Ohio Wesleyan graduate and the founder and CEO of Reactionpower Inc., will return to Delaware on October 1 to present “Your Human Advantage in the Age of AI.” Her lecture will examine how judgment, creativity, and relationships can help leaders respond to change and convert new challenges into opportunities.

The program begins at 7:30 PM in the Benes Rooms of Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 40 Rowland Ave. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public. Read Ohio Wesleyan’s September 14 announcement.

A Homecoming Focused On Leadership

Chiuri’s appearance is part of Ohio Wesleyan’s 2026-2027 Robert L. Milligan Leaders in Business Lecture series. The subject reflects a question reaching far beyond the technology industry. As artificial intelligence becomes part of marketing, education, healthcare, government, and everyday office work, organizations must decide which tasks can be automated and where human judgment remains essential. The full title of Chiuri’s presentation points to three areas she will explore: judgment, creativity, and relationships.

Ohio Wesleyan has not released a detailed lecture outline, so the announcement does not identify particular products, workplace policies, or predictions that Chiuri will address. It does, however, place the evening squarely within the continuing discussion about how leaders can use new technology without surrendering the qualities that make leadership effective.

A Career Across Industries

Chiuri founded Reactionpower in Cupertino, California. The company uses artificial intelligence-based insights to advise clients on executive authority, market influence, reputation, and organizational growth. Its work includes strategic intelligence, digital marketing, executive branding, content development, community management, research, social-media strategy, and paid media. Before building Reactionpower, Chiuri worked with major international companies and brands including Google, Samsung, Johnson & Johnson, Disney, Nike, and Apple. Her career has crossed multiple industries, markets, and continents, giving the October lecture a practical business perspective as well as a technological one. Recent recognition has included appearances on Inc. and AlwaysOn lists and honors identifying influential women leaders in California and San Jose, according to the university.

Leadership That Began In Delaware

Chiuri’s connection to leadership began during her time at Ohio Wesleyan. As a student, she was named the university’s Most Outstanding Student Leader. She also received the Olive E. Day Award for contributions to minority student life and the Estephen McNell and Golden Bishop Meek awards for leadership.

Her academic recognition included Dean’s List honors and membership in the Phi Eta Sigma and Phi Sigma Tau honor societies.

That record gives her return another dimension. The October program will bring a former campus leader back to the place where some of her earliest work in leadership and community life took shape.

A Lecture Series With A Long History

The annual Milligan lecture is presented by Ohio Wesleyan’s Woltemade Center for Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship. The series was established in 1992 through an endowment from Robert L. “Bill” Milligan, a member of the OWU Class of 1922, and his wife, Mary Cook Milligan, who later became an honorary alumna.

The Woltemade Center supports teaching, research, professional development, and community engagement related to economics and business. Its public lecture series gives Delaware residents access to speakers whose work connects business decisions with broader economic and social changes. This year, that connection comes through one of the defining questions facing workplaces of nearly every kind: what people should ask technology to do, and what responsibilities they should continue to reserve for themselves.
