Powell is welcoming a new destination for readers with the arrival of Escape Into Fiction, a locally owned, fiction-focused bookstore located at 50 S. Liberty Street, Suite 174. To mark the occasion, the Powell Area Chamber of Commerce invites the community to a special ribbon cutting at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 17. This event comes one day ahead of the store’s official grand opening celebration on Saturday, October 18.

A Space Built for Storytelling

Escape Into Fiction is more than a bookstore. It’s a thoughtfully designed space created for readers of all ages and interests in fiction. From mystery and thriller to romance, young adult, and rare finds, the shop offers a carefully curated selection across the genre spectrum.

Children will find their imaginations sparked in the whimsical Story Garden, while teens have their own area designed for comfort and discovery. With Wi-Fi, internet-connected computers, and welcoming seating throughout, Escape Into Fiction blends old-fashioned browsing with modern amenities.

Community at the Core

Store manager April Rock has a clear vision for the shop as a gathering place for Powell. Book clubs, local art receptions, and literary events are already on the calendar, including an exhibit opening by the Franklin Art Association on November 10.

More than just a storefront, Escape Into Fiction hopes to become a home for readers, writers, and neighbors who want to connect over shared stories.

For more information, contact April Rock at mail@escapeintofiction.com or call 614-745-6575.

Whether you’re a lifelong reader or simply curious, all are welcome to stop by and help turn the page on this exciting new chapter in Powell.
