Horsepower Farms, a unique storage concept for car enthusiasts located at 4301 Home Road, recently broke ground on an expansion that will more than double its size.
The garage condominium community is spearheaded by Chip Vance, owner of Auto Assets in Powell. Vance’s passion for cars and his extensive experience in the automotive industry inspired the creation of Horsepower Farms.
Vance’s high-end storage facility for recreational, collector, and exotic car-owners opened in 2020. “Fayse IV” will add seven buildings with 67 units to Horsepower Farms. The garage condominiums include climate control, insulated access doors, mezzanines, reinforced concrete floors, internet capabilities, high security, and a shared clubhouse for entertaining.
The members-only clubhouse boasts outdoor seating, pond views, a large screen television, and more.
City of Powell Economic Development Administrator Sean Hughes said Horsepower Farms brings multiple benefits to Powell.
The City will leverage Tax Increment Financing (TIF) from this project to connect existing multi-use paths along Steitz Road. Landscaping that will enhance privacy and aesthetics of the surrounding area was also included as part of this development.
“It’s a perfect example of how a community can partner with a developer to create infrastructure that everyone can benefit from,” Hughes said.
Horsepower farms is located near the developing Home Road corridor which is the future home of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Outpatient Care Powell, as well as a new Wendy’s restaurant, a Parlor Doughnuts at the Middlebury Crossing retail center, and the Redwood Apartment Complex.
Vance named the latest addition “Fayse IV to pay homage to Horsepower Farms’ former neighbor, Fay Baynton, who operated an equine boarding and riding lesson business.
