“This year has been challenging for our community, especially our local businesses,” said City Manager Andrew White. “With the ‘Together Strong, Together Powell’ initiative, we want businesses in our community to know they’re not in this alone, and that the city and residents are here to give them the support they need for all of us to make it to the other side of this pandemic, together.”

“This grant has been instrumental for us as a small, local business to weather the financial deficit the pandemic has hit us with, “ explains Ryan and Nicole Kunk of KSM Sports and Fitness Indoor Facility. “In our case, these dollars allowed us to cover costs of $10,000, and continue to keep our doors open to the community during a really challenging time for all of us.”

“The Powell Community Improvement Corporation is grateful for the opportunity to use CARES Act funding to assist the local economy,” said President Jim Hrivnak. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with our business community as we head into the economic recovery of the pandemic.”
