In a statement made on its website earlier this week, the Village Academy Board of Trustees announced that the institution would not reopen for another school year.

The statement shared in part, “Over the past years, the School has worked to increase enrollment, minimize expenses and bolster giving by our supporters in the community. Yet our overall enrollment and giving have not reached the level needed for us to continue to operate.
Village Academy is no longer able to provide educational services that support its mission, therefore the Board of Trustees has decided that Village Academy will be closing its doors, effective Friday, July 19, 2019.”

Village Academy Schools was founded in 1976 as a year round preschool and kindergarten, expanding in the years since to become an independent preparatory school for grades K-12. It moved to Powell in 1990 from its original location near The Ohio State University.
