Work in planning The Villas at Old Harbor East, a proposed 50 lot housing development at the corner of South Old State Road and Hollenback Road in Lewis Center, is moving forward.

On August 29, the preliminary plan for the development will be reviewed by the Delaware County Regional Planning Commission.

Sitting on 16.24 acres, The Villas at Old Harbor East is directly across South Old State Road from the proposed site of The Villas at Old Harbor West. The latter would place 90 lots on a bit over 30 acres of land.

In a Commission staff report from July, it was noted that there are wooded areas which surround the East property, but which do not create a barrier to development. Two ponds are located on the site, both of which are classified as wetlands. The plan is to retain those two ponds with a middle walkway.

The Commission meeting to review The Villas at Old Harbor East will take place at 6:30 PM in the Frank Willis Building Conference Room, 2079 US23 North.

The proposed preliminary plan can be seen here, and the sketch for The Villas at Old Harbor West can be seen at this location.
