Before buses roll for the first day of the 2026-27 school year, Olentangy families have one important item to check off the summer list: confirm whether each eligible student will use district bus service.

Olentangy Transportation is asking all families with students eligible for bus transportation to either register for service or formally opt out by June 25, 2026. The district says the information is needed now so routes, seating, staffing, and first-day transportation plans can be completed accurately.

One Form Per Student

Families should submit one form for each child. Students who will need bus service should be registered through the district’s 2026-27 transportation form. Students who do not need transportation must also be accounted for. Families should open the form, select “No,” and provide the student’s name, student ID, and address.

Student ID numbers can be found in the PowerSchool parent portal, located in the top blue bar.

Register Now, Even If Transportation Starts Later

The district is also reminding families that students involved in sports or other programs that temporarily delay transportation needs should still be registered now. Completing the form by the deadline helps ensure service is available when the student’s activity schedule changes. Missing or incomplete forms may result in a student not having bus service on the first day of school.

Safety On Board

As part of the district’s transportation safety protocols, each student will be assigned a seat. Students are also expected to follow all bus rules outlined in the student handbook.

Families with questions may contact Olentangy Transportation at transportation@olsd.us or 740-657-4387.

Registration closes June 25.
